I can’t seem to figure out which way is lengthwise when I’m loading cases in a semi-trailer.?

I work as a shipping loader and they tell me to load cases lengthwise. Well let’s say I have a rectangular box 2′x3′ would I load with the longest dimension pointing from front to back or from side to side? Say you’re looking at the front of the box while it’s in the trailer assuming you’re facing the back of the trailer(The part closest to the cab for me) and you get the length of the very front edge of the box would it be 2′ or 3′?

I would say that it the front end (end closest to you) would be 2′ because pallets sit 2 wide in a truck and are 4 ft. wide (feet)…If you are talking about a semi trailer or a box truck designed for pallets.
