Extreme Home Makeover: I Don’t Get It?
I watched Extreme Home Makeover the other day and am utterly dumbfounded. How is the family supposed to afford the upkeep, taxes, and utilities on their new manse if they couldn’t upkeep a very modest home before? Keeping up the landscaping, keeping the house clean (you couldn’t do that all yourself… these houses are huge!), regular maintainance, property taxes, electric and gas…holy smokes! You’d have to give the homeowners 35K per year just to cover it all!
Giving someone what they need to be modestly comfortable, something they can reasonably care for, is one thing. Putting greed before common sense is another.
